BY UKANDI ODEY – The body of the late former Senate President, Joseph Wayas has arrived Nigeria from London.

A statement by Dr Don Cklaimz Enambhe, the convener of ‘Who Is Who’ in Northern Cross River, said the corpse of the late politician arrived from Heathrow Airport, London, UK, on board British Airways flight BA 083 to the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, Nigeria, at 4.40am on Wednesday, July 10, 2024.

Enambhe said a huge crowd of ‘Who Is Who’ in Cross River North was on ground to receive the corpse, before it was driven in a historic motorcade to the National Hospital, Abuja, where it has been deposited as the burial committee of the pro-Cross River North swings into final and concluding funeral plans.

According to Enambhe said that the eventual arrival of the body of the late political exemplar and star of Nigeria’s second republic era “marks the first remarkable step by ‘Who Is Who’ in Cross River North Forum to give him a befitting burial.

He said further that “all that this group has done was borne out of a patriotic zeal to intervene and assist in the burial processes”.

Meanwhile, the home of the late politician in Asokoro, Abuja is grappling with a huge number of sympathizers and members of the Cross River North Forum coordinating activities in a steady and unfailing build up to the final interment.

The Cross River North Forum, a cross section of the good people of the Cross River State, and the Cross River State Diaspora community have expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, Cross River State Governor, Prince Bassey Edet Otu, Senator representing Cross River North, Agwom Jarigbe Agwom, and all those who facilitated the arrival of the body of the President of the Senate in the second Republic from London where he died over two years ago.

A comprehensive burial programme is expected to be announced later as the family of the deceased, the Cross River North forum harmonize their stakes.
