BY SEGUN ADEBAYO – A prominent politician and Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Barrister Morayo Lebi has donated cash palliatives to alleviate the suffering of people in Ondo South Senatorial District due to the COVID-19 lockdown.

Joining the growing list of philanthropists contributing financial and material resources to address economic hardship faced by their people, Lebi said the times demand collaborative efforts to win the war against Coronavirus in the country.

In his palliative package, the Ikale-born politician doled out financial assistance of N5,000 each to 120 (One hundred and twenty) indigents and vulnerable members of Ondo South, comprising six Local Government Areas.

Aside the money given to individual beneficiaries, Levi also earmarked another Five Hundred Thousand Naira (N500,000) as palliatives targeting the aged, widows, orphans and handicaps to put smiles on peoples’ faces in this trying period.

According to the legal practitioner, the cash donation to beneficiaries in Okitipupa was devoid of political undertone, as the people were randomly selected from the six local government areas in the Senatorial district.

Represented by an APC leader in Ondo South, Mr Gbenga Opetusin, the two time senatorial aspirant charged well-to-do people in the society to join hands with government at all levels to fight the Coronavirus to a standstill.

Appreciating Barrister Lebi’s benevolence, some beneficiaries applauded the gesture and pray Almighty God to replenish him in million folds.

They admitted that the cash donation will go a long way in alleviating their suffering during this stay-at-home period.
