However, things were different on Wednesday’s night because their offensive dominance was clearly absent at the Montjuic against Getafe. But the cheering news remain that they still managed to clinch maximum points at stake.

The visitors had a bright start to the game, with Inaki Pena, who started in place of the injured Keeper Marc Andre Ter Stegen, forced into an early save from a Carles Peres header.

As spaces began to open up, Yamal showcased his skill, controlling Raphinha’s pass with ease, but prodding wide from close range. Lewandowski then tested Soria’s reflexes with a tight-angle shot, only to be denied.

Stepping up matters after the break, Barcelona intensified their pressure, with Soria producing a stunning one-handed save to thwart Yamal’s long-range effort.

The Getafe goalkeeper repeated the feat, parrying Raphinha’s free-kick with lightning-quick reflexes to the frustration of Coach Hansi Flick’s men

Holding tenaciously to the one goal lead, Barcelona were made uncomfortable as the match wore on. They had to dig deep in surviving a late scare when Borja Mayoral received a pin-point pass cross that left him one-on-one with Pena, but the former Real Madrid man squandered the effort.
