…To host NOWAJ NEC in September
BY AHMED TUKUR, LAFIA – Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has promised to appoint more women supervisory councilors into Local Government Councils in the State.
Governor Sule, who made the promise when he received in audience the national President of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Comrade Ladi Bala in the state, said his administration placed premium on women empowerment.

He assured that he would do everything possible to ensure that more eligible women occupy government offices.
Sule explains that women are the most economic and reliable potentials in government that will drive the machinery for greater results.
In his words; “We will do our best to encourage women to participate actively in politics and I will ensure that more women are appointed as supervisory councilors after the forthcoming Local Government elections”
The governor charged women journalist to help in sensitizing women in areas of entrepreneur and economic enhancement.
He also promised host the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of NAWOJ scheduled to take place in September this year.

Earlier in her remarks, the National President of NAWOJ, Comrade Ladi Bala appreciated Governor Sule for appointing women into his cabinet and call on other states to emulate him.
She said that NAWOJ is planning a training workshop for 1000 women on how to tap from the various initiatives of the state government.
According to her; “We want to train Nasarawa women to take advantage of the industrial revolution of the state and get what to do to create wealth.
“The Dangote Sugar, flour mills, Azman rice all in the state will be a great advantage to women in those communities by understanding the concept of entrepreneurship.”
The NAWOJ president called on women in the state especially journalists to support the government of Governor Sule to succeed.
