Liverpool’s Nosedive Continues, Lose 1-3 To Leicester
Impressive Wilfred Ndidi bags assist, Salah continues inspiring away form

On a day that champions Liverpool continued their woeful defence of the Premiership title, Nigeria international, Wilfred Ndidi again showed character in his overall display for Leicester City.
The Reds were 1-0 up and on course for a morale-boosting win at the King Power Stadium but they suffered another spectacular collapse. No thanks to another howler from their world class goalkeeper, Alisson Becker.
If anything could sum up the Reds’ season, then here it was, all wrapped in one horrific, seven-minute bundle by Becker.
It never rains but it pours, for Liverpool. All of a sudden, the world’s best goalkeeper looks anything but. All of a sudden, he has become a bundle of huge errors between the sticks.
Called them bad ones and costly ones. After his two howlers against Manchester City last weekend came another at the King Power Stadium, as Leicester struck a crucial blow in the battle for a top-four place with a 3-1 victory that was as farcical as it could be damaging, for Jurgen Klopp’s champions.
But that did not take the shine off Ndidi who played a key role as the Foxes defeated Jurgen Klopp’s men at the King Power Stadium, Ndidi provided an assist as Leicester secured a 3-1 home victory over the Reds in Saturday’s Premier League game.
The Super Eagles midfielder was handed his second consecutive start since overcoming a thigh muscle strain and he was in superb form delivering an impactful showing in the encounter.
Ndidi starred in front of the back four, comprising Daniel Amartey, Jonny Evans, Caglar Soyuncu and Ricardo Pereira in a first-half that ended goalless with the best chance falling the way of Jamie Vardy.
The centre-forward found himself in a one-on-one situation with goalkeeper Alisson but his effort hit the crossbar.
However, Salah broke the deadlock in the 67th minute after receiving a fine backheel pass from Roberto Firmino, thus, extending his fine partnership with the Brazilian forward.
The Egypt international has now scored 10 away goals in the Premier League this season, making him the first player to achieve the feat.
James Maddison levelled proceedings for the King Power Stadium outfit in the 78th minute before Vardy made amends for his earlier miss by scoring three minutes later.
And in a match that his compatriot, Kelechi Iheanacho was an unused substitute, Ndidi, who featured for the duration of the game, then orchestrated the third goal for Leicester with five minutes left of play when he set up Harvey Barnes to seal the victory.
Salah played throughout the match along with his strike partner and Senegal international Sadio Mane, but they could not help Liverpool avoid their third consecutive defeat.
The victory takes Leicester to second spot on the table with 46 points from 24 games while Liverpool, despite the defeat, are fourth after amassing 40 points from the same number of matches.
Ndidi has now made 17 appearances across all competitions this season for Leicester and will hope to help his side continue in winning ways when they take on Slavia Prague in the Europa League. – Goal.com report
