Logistics Crisis: APC Cancels National Caucus, NEC Meetings

BY AMOS DUNIA, ABUJA – Following what insiders described as lack of logistics and finance to support the hosting of organs of the governing All Progressives Congress (APC), the national leadership on Thursday announced the postponement of two strategic meetings of the Party.

A terse statement issued by the Party’s National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, said “The National Caucus and National Executive Committee (NEC) meetings of the All Progressives Congress (APC) scheduled for April 24 and 25, 2017 respectively have been postponed.”

Abdullahi, however refused to give detailed reasons for the postponement of the earlier approved and scheduled National Caucus and NEC meetings of the Party, saying; “it is due to unexpected developments.”

He further said that new dates for the meetings will be communicated in due course.

Forefront however gathered that the Chief John Odighie-Oyegun led National Working Committee (NWC), is not comfortable with the body language of most members of NEC as they are silently pushing for the sacking of the NWC.

The National Secretariat of the Party is also believed to be suffering from acute shortage of funds needed to finance Party programmes ahead of the now postponed non-elective National convention.
