Pastor Chris Okafor on Sunday, December 28, 2025, publicly tender an apology over the controversy involving his erstwhile lover, a Nollywood actress, Doris Ogala.
The sudden development marked a dramatic turn in a saga that has dominated social media for some week.
In a video that surfaced online from his Sunday church service, the pastor who stood on the pulpit before his congregation, addressed the allegations and backlash that followed the dispute between him and Doris Ogala.
In an emotion laden moment on the altar, Pastor Okafor admitted that mistakes had been made in the past, but insisted that some of the claims circulating online were not correct.
In what appeared a striking gesture, Pastor Okafor went on his knees before his congregation and asked for forgiveness and prayers, a move that attracted applause from some of the members of the church.
Okafor, however said that despite this, he took responsibility for any pain or hurt he may have caused anyone, thus offered a direct apology.
He also admitted that he is not a perfect being and had made mistakes in the past, adding that everything that was said was never the truth.

Okafor assured that he was willing to make restitution to anyone affected by the situation, including any woman who may feel wronged.
The pastor said the experience had marked a turning point in his life, just as he has embraced a “new beginning” following guidance from a senior spiritual mentor he acknowledged as a “father of faith.”
Okafor further said; “I’m not perfect. I’ve never been perfect, but I tell you, I’ve had a new beginning since the coming of this father of faith into my life.”
