In a heartwarming development that has obviously spiced up President Muhammadu Buhari’s Salah celebration this year, the first family on Friday added the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, as its latest son-in-law.
In a quiet marriage ceremony held at the Presidential Villa on Friday, the Justice Minister got wedded to the President’s third daughter from his first marriage, Nana Hadiza.
Presidency sources hinted that the ceremony took place inside the State House Mosque after the Jumat service, away from the prying eyes of uninvited guests, including the State House correspondents.
One of the sources privy to the marriage said it had in attendance only specially invited guests and “it was performed after the Jamat service”.
Speaking on condition of anonymity, the source said; “It’s true and I can confirm that the Attorney-General is now officially an in-law of Mr President. He got married to Hadiza, one of Baba’s daughters from his late first wife, Safinatu.
“The Nikkai was performed after the Jumat in the State House mosque and not many people witnessed it. It was meant to be a private ceremony, so journalists couldn’t have been part of it.”
With the latest tying on the nuptial knot, Nana Hadiza has become Malami’s third wife, having been married to Aisha and Fatima before now.
Family members at the event prayed for a successful marriage for the couple in the years ahead. The newest bride was once married to Abdulrahman Mamman Kurfi with six children from the union before both parties went their separate ways through a divorce.
