BY COBHAM NSA – Nigeria’s ambitious blueprint to secure a coveted investment-grade credit rating by 2030 will take centre stage at the 6th DataPro International Rating Webinar on October 8, 2026, as the nation intensifies its push for long-term economic transformation.

The Minister of State for Budget and Economic Planning, Doris Uzoka-Anite, will be making a strong case for this strategic push on investment-grade prospects with her keynote presentation on the theme: “Achieving Investment Grade Rating by 2030: The Roadmap for Nigeria”.

According to the programme organizers, DataPro, the Minister’s address at the virtual event will dissect the critical policy, institutional, and economic overhauls necessary to fortify the nation’s sovereign credit profile, rebuild global investor confidence, and unlock deeper access to international capital.

Information from DataPro’ stable indicate that a high-level panel of government officials, international development leaders, academics, and credit-rating experts will feature at the programme packaged to dissect the deep-seated institutional and structural macroeconomic reforms necessary to bolster the nation’s financial standing and reset the economy for sustainable growth.

Additionally, DataPro explained that the strategic dialogue will zero in on critical vulnerabilities in rebuilding sovereign credibility, upgrading institutional governance, macroeconomic policy, and sharpening fiscal management, noting that by addressing these core areas, the panel is looking to strengthen Nigeria’s institutional fundamentals and reshape its long-term economic trajectory.

Besides providing stakeholders with deeper insights into the measures required to strengthen Nigeria’s sovereign creditworthiness and support a more sustainable investment environment, DataPro said the webinar would will also examine how fiscal and structural reforms can support the Federal Government’s ambition of growing Nigeria’s economy to $1 trillion by 2030.

The Minister, an economist and public policy expert, brings to the table her strategic insight, having previously served as  the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, before taking up responsibilities as Minister of State for Finance from where she was moved to her current portfolio as Minister of State for Budget and Economic Planning.

Uzoka-Anite headlines an elite panel of global financial minds, including Oluwakemi Babalogbon, Executive Director of Risk Management at Ministry of Finance Incorporated (MOFI), and Dr. Misheck Mutize, the Lead Expert on Credit Rating Agencies for the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM).

Others speakers featuring at the high-level dialogue are Dr. Daniel Cash, Founder of the Credit Rating Research Initiative, alongside leading international academics, Prof Kai Gehring, Professor of Political Economy at the University of Bern; and Prof Dr Torsten Schmidt, Head of Macroeconomics and Public Finance Research at RWI-Essen.
