The Nigeria Police, Lagos State Command has announced that five suspects have been interrogated over the death of Ilerioluwa Aloba popularly known as Mohbad’s death.
The Commissioner of Police in-charge of the Lagos State command, CP Idowu Owohunwa, who stated this on Friday at a press conference as part of the update into the ongoing investigation into circumstances surrounding the death of Mohbad, also said that 26 witnesses have been identified.
Forefront News gathered that the suspects included; Naira Marley, Sam Larry, an auxiliary nurse – Ms Feyisayo Ogedengbe and Ibrahim Oluwatosin Owodunni popularly known as Primeboy.
In the words of CP Owohunwa; “Five suspects have so far been identified, arrested, detained, and interrogated on their alleged roles in the sequence of events that led to the death of the singer”.
The Police Commissioner for Lagos State pointedly said that the auxiliary nurse (Ogedengbe) administered multiple and highly potent injections on Mohbad, adding that the injections, consisting of Tetanus Toxoid, paracetamol and Cetrazone, an antibiotic, were administered at Mobad’s residence on September 12, 2023.
He noted that the medications may have triggered an immediate reaction including vomiting, goosebumps and convulsion, stressing that Ogedengbe was unqualified to perform the role of a home nurse but, did so in a non-clinical environment and professionally negligent manner.
CP Owohunwa also said that another suspect is Primeboy, who is known to be a childhood friend of the late Mohbad.
The Lagos police boss said that Primeboy attended a show with Mohbad on September 10, which culminated in a physical fight between the two that led to the late singer’s injury, saying; “the management of the injury subsequently resulted in his death”.
He further said that Samson Balogun popularly known as ‘Sam Larry’ was arrested and was still in detention for being complicit in Mohbad’s death and in relation to viral videos by the deceased about bullying and assault.
CP Owohunwa further said; “Likewise, Abdul-Aziz Fashola, also known as Naira Marley, was arrested and is in detention over similar allegations”.
