Muhammad Garba Assumes Duty As Commissioner In Kano With A Rousing Welcome
BY VICTOR BUORO, ABUJA – It was a day of jubilation for management and staff of the Kano state ministry of Information as the reappointed commissioner in the ministry, Malam Muhammad Garba assumed duty today.
Garba, who was accompanied by APC party elders from the Kano Municipal Local Government Area, friends, well-wishers and party supporters, reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that the state government’s programmes and policies are well publicized to effectively project the image of the state.
The commissioner solicited the cooperation and support of the staff of the ministry and charged them to be more committed in discharging their duties just as he urged leaders of the APC especially in Municipal LGA to forget their differences and work together to ensure good governance in the state.
In his own remark, the new Commissioner for Special Duties, Alhaji Muktari Ishaq Yakasai described the reapportionment of Muhammad Garba as Commissioner of Information as well deserved considering the tremendous achievements recorded in his first tenure.
Earlier in her welcome address, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Hajiya Hafsat Iliyasu congratulated Malam Garba on his reapportionment for a second term and pledged her support and that of the entire staff of the ministry to him.
Among those that accompanied the commissioner were the Commissioner for Special Duties, Alhaji Muktar Ishaq Yakasai: that of Education Alhaj Sunusi Majidadin Kiru; Chairman of Municipal LGA Alhaji Sabo Dantata, Chairman APC Municipal LGA Alhaji Sani Fata Sharada and MD KAROTA, Baffa Babba Dan agundi.
Others are the Managing Director of Abubakar Rimi Market, Managing Director of Kantin Kwari Market, Chairman of the Kano State chapter of the NUJ, and the Kano State Chairman of RATTAWU among others.
