Murder Of Adegoke: FG Withdraws Case Against Dr. Adedoyin, Others
The Federal Government on Tuesday asked a High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), to discontinue the criminal case filed against the Owner of Hilton Hotel, Ile Ife, Osun State, Dr Ramon Adedoyin.
Adedoyin was standing trial in the murder case of a postgraduate student of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, Osun State, Late Timothy Adegoke, who was brutally murdered in Hilton Hotel, Ile Ife where he lodged sometime in November, 2021.
In a dramatic move however, the Federal Government which was the complainant in the matter, notified the court that it was discontinuing the matter in a letter, titled, “Notice of Discontinuance of Charge No. CR/015/22 brought pursuant to Section 108 of Administration of Criminal Act (ACJA) 2015.”
It states; “Take notice that the complainant discontinues all of the proceedings in this case against the above-named Defendants for further investigation, dated this 7th day of February 2022.”
The Nigeria Police had in January, 2022 filed a criminal case against Adedoyin and others over their alleged role and involvement in the murder of Late Adegoke.
The family of the Late Timothy Adegoke had hired the services of Human Rights Lawyer, Mr. Femi Falana SAN, as counsel in the criminal case of murder of their son.
