- Says ‘If I can’t get it, I’ll recommend Tinubu’
- Urges APC National Leader to take good care of his health
Interesting times of political alignments and realignments await Nigerians ahead of the 2023 general elections with New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) presidential candidate, Alhaji Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso confessing his readiness to support the All Progressives Congress (APC) flag bearer, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, if the reality of losing at the polls dawns on him going forward.
The former Kano Governor, who spoke during an interview on Arise TV following Tinubu’s announcement of Senator Kashim Shettima as his running mate, admitted that the APC’s candidate would ultimately be a better choice for Nigerians to embrace in 2023.
Quoted as saying; “If I cannot get it, I will recommend Tinubu”, the NNPP standard-bearer said there will be no qualms having the presidency go to the APC National Leader if he (Kwankwaso) cannot win the contest, claiming that given his good rapport with the former Lagos State Chief Executive in the past, one cannot possibly underrate his capabilities and strategies to successfully manage Nigeria’s affairs.
Hear him; “I am so happy about the combination, my only worry is the platform, I know Bola Tinubu is a strategist; he is a good man. I have had reasons to sit with him several times, from 1990 till date.
“The only thing I don’t know is what he will tell Nigerians he will do differently from what President Muhammadu Buhari is doing. Ordinarily, if I cannot get (the presidency) I can recommend Tinubu”.
However, Kwankwaso urged his AriseTV interviewer, Dr Ruben Abati to encourage Tinubu on the need to take good care of his health and be easy going ahead of the 2023 polls.
“This campaign is very rigorous, it requires a lot of effort and so on and so forth. I hope he will take it easy so that we can continue the struggle to ensure one solid and prosperous Nigeria,
