NAF Helicopter Blade Kills Fighter Aircraftman

Tragedy stroke Saturday in Bama town as a blade of one of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), helicopters accidentally killed an aircraftman in Borno State.

The victim, Aircraftman (ACM) Umaru Abdul Ganimu was until his death part of the NAF team that is actively engaged in counter-insurgency operations in the North East.
ACM Umar, it was further gathered was passing through the side of the functioning rotor when the blade chopped off his head.

He has since been buried at the Maimalari Military Cemetery in Maiduguri according to Islamic injunction after his family members were informed of the unfortunate incident.
The aircraft was recovered and taken back to the Airbase without any damage to the tail rotor.
