Precision air strikes by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) have torn through the terrorist stronghold in a devastating raid at Yaganari in the Gezuwa general area of Borno State, marking yet another major operational triumph in the ongoing war against insurgency.

Executed through the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), NAF said actionable intelligence led to the operation launched on Friday, July 10, 2026, with the devastating bombardment that neutralized several insurgents and crippled insurgent logistics hubs.

A statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information, NAF Headquarters, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, on Saturday, said the feat achieved is part of the military efforts to effectively tackle renewed terrorist activities and the concentration of fighters in the area.

According to the statement, the air component conducted intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions, which confirmed the presence of terrorist structures and logistics enclaves.

It further said: “The targets were subsequently engaged in a series of precision strikes, leading to the destruction of terrorist infrastructure and the neutralisation of several terrorists.

“The successful operation further underscores the growing pressure being mounted on terrorist elements, whose freedom of movement and ability to regroup continue to be severely degraded by sustained air offensives.”

Furthermore, it said the Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, has commended the personnel involved for their professionalism and reaffirmed the Nigerian Air Force’s resolve to sustain relentless offensive operations against all threats to national security.

The statement quoted him as saying: “The Nigerian Air Force will continue to deliver decisive air power in concert with surface forces to hunt down, disrupt and destroy terrorist elements wherever they may seek refuge.

“We remain committed to ensuring that terrorists have no safe haven and no opportunity to recover their capabilities.”

He maintained that far from retreating, the Armed Forces of Nigeria are pressing their relentless offensive, determined to lock in and consolidate on the hard-won victories of their counter-terrorism campaign.
