NAICOM Board Appoints New Directors, Restructures Operations

  • Confirms Spokesman Salami’s promotion
  • Births eight directorates for efficiency

In a move designed to enhance effective service delivery, the Governing Board of the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) has approved the promotion of five senior management staff as Directors.

Additionally, the Board has approved the updated organisational structure of the Commission to enhance its efficiency, effectiveness, and adaptability to the demands of existing and emerging challenges in the nation’s Insurance industry

A statement issued in Abuja on Monday said among the new directors is the former Head of Corporate Communications and Market Development, Rasaq Salami, who has been elevated as the Director of Human Resources and Administration, one of the eight newly restructured Directorates in the Commission.

Promoted alongside Salami, who is a consummate Communications and Public Relations expert, are Ajibola Bankole, now Director in charge of the Inspectorate Department; Ahmad Ibrahim Adam, Director of Innovation & Regulation; Dr. Talmiz Usman, Director in charge of Legal, Enforcement and Market Development; and Kamaludeen Barde, who is the Director, Finance and Accounts.

The current elevation of officers followed the promotion exercise conducted on March 27, 2024, even as the statement said; “This restructuring ensures that the organisational structure aligns with the Commission’s strategic goals and objectives, aiding the executive management in achieving its mandate”.

The new Directorates include Inspectorate, Supervision, Market Conduct and Complaint Bureau, Innovation and Regulation, and Legal, Enforcement and Market Development.

Others are Human Resources and Administration; Finance and Accounts as well as Technology, Strategy, and Research.
