Naira Redesign: Supreme Court Adjourns Suit To March 3, 2023 For Judgment

The Supreme Court on Wednesday adjourned to March 3, 2023, the suit filed by some state governments challenging the February 10, 2023 deadline set by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to end the use of old Naira notes.

A seven-man panel of Justices of the apex Court announced this after hearing Counsels to both the petitioners and respondents in the suits.

Following the decision of the Supreme Court to deliver judgement on the matter after the presidential election, the Federal Government and the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), would continue to implement its policy of not allowing the continued circulation of the old N500 and N1000 old notes.
