NCPC, VON To Partner On Pilgrimage Exercise
The Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC) Bishop Stephen Adegbite has said the Commission would partner with the Voice Of Nigeria in the promotion of Christian Pilgrimage exercise.
Adegbite, who stated this when he received in audience the Director General of the Voice of Nigeria, Mr Jibrin Ndace and his Management team, said he would ensure that the activities of the NCPC are well projected and given prominence by way of adequate coverage through various platforms of VON.
The NCPC boss said; “We are going to partner with VON and we must work together in synergy. There is the need for team work amongst the management and staff of both organisations as a sure way of achieving result”.
Adegbite called on Nigerians to key into the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed TInubu, adding that the Commission’s Pilgrimage this year is “Renewed Hope and Satisfaction”.
The Executive Secretary of NCPC further said that all that is needed in Nigeria is prayer adding that as such, Nigerians should consistently pray for their leaders and for the peace of the country.
Adegbite said that the assignments and tasks of the Commission are beyond pilgrimage, stating that NCPC provides a veritable platform to unite and foster peace amongst Christians and other faiths.
Earlier, the Director General of VON, Mr Jibrin Ndace commended Bishop Adegbite for his consistent prayer for the nation and also commended President Bola TInubu for his capacity and eye for the best which has become a hallmark of his administration.
Ndache briefed the NCPC boss about the mandate of VON which he said is hinged on external broadcast which helps to tell the Nigerian story for external audience and help to enhance Nigeria foreign policy.
The VON boss assured the NCPC Executive Secretary that he was determined to build on the legacies of the founding fathers of VON and hinted that the organization under his watch plans to expand the number of languages that it broadcast to the outside world.
Ndache said that every pilgrim is an ambassador of the country thus, expected to come back with positive feedbacks from the Holy land, adding that the partnership between the NCPC and VON should be part of the coverage of the pilgrimage exercise in the holy land.
He said; “I want you to see VON as a veritable platform to advance the cause of Christian Pilgrimage in Nigeria”.
He further promised to secure a dedicated programme for NCPC so that the Commission could leverage on it to disseminate information about Christian Pilgrimage in Nigeria.
