New Islamic Year: Intensify Prayers For Unity And Cohesion – Ayu Appeals To Muslim Ummah
National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr Iyorchia Ayu has called on the Muslim Ummah in the country to use the significance of the celebration of the new Islamic year to intensify prayers for unity, development and cohesion of the nation.
Ayu particularly urged Muslims in the country to rekindle their faith which emphasises love of one another, forgiveness and greater dedication to peace and development.
He also urged Muslims to assess their conduct for a better tomorrow, saying that such would help them produce leaders that would bring lasting peace and rapid development to usher a greater nation.
These were contained in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communication, Yusuf Abubakar Dingyadi in which he also urged Nigerians not to lose hope or allow anybody to use his failure to destroy the nation.
Ayu further said; “We are a people united by a common destiny of greatness which we must bequeath to our upcoming generation. Nothing should change our determination and commitment to restore the lost glory of this great nation.
“Therefore, on behalf of the entire PDP family, I rejoice with our Muslim brothers and sisters on the celebration of the New Islamic Year 1444 (Hijrah)”.
The PDP National Chairman appealed to Nigerians to support the PDP which is he stressed remains the only Party that can rescue and reset the country by unifying it and ensuring economic growth, security, qualitative and quantitative education and true federalism.
Ayu appreciated the role of all party members across the country for their support and determination of making Nigeria greater again.
