BY OLAKUNLE AWONIYI, ABUJA – A group on the aegis of ‘We Are United Nigeria Movement’ has said that in spite of the antics of some politicians, leaders of thoughts and traditional leaders to create chaos and enmity amongst the nation’s ethnic groups, the unity of Nigeria must remain none negotiable.
Director of the group, Olo Anthony Chimedu, who stated this at a press conference in Abuja, said the challenges facing the country deserve a nationalistic approach and tackling to enable the country get out the woods regardless of the political affiliation.
This as Chimedu called on the Department of State Security and other security agencies to be for impartial in arresting erring citizens without prejudice, just as it urged the government to also listen to the agitations of some Nigerians that are feeling hurt.
The group called on Nigerians and other relevant entities to ensure that Nigeria remains one, stressing that it is only when the country is united as one indissoluble entity as enshrined in the Constitution that all forms of nepotism and religious differences can be eliminated in our national lives.
