BY CHINYERE OBIORA – The General Superintendent of Deeper Life Bible Church (DLBC), Pastor William Kumuyi, says Nigeria is deserving of individuals with goodly intentions, backed with productive action, to deliver it from the present economic predicament.

Pastor Kumuyi, who spoke during a press conference in Ogbomoso, Oyo State to flag off the July 2023 Global Crusade with Kumuyi (GCK), described lack of good leadership as the cause of Nigeria’s socio-economic crisis and called for courageous and tenacious leaders at all levels and endeavours to turn things around for the citizenry.

Clearly indicating that the country is badly infected with the bad leadership syndrome, Pastor Kumuyi said to deliver Nigeria from the present economic challenges, it is imperative to have leaders who would be steadfast at all times, not being strong today, weak and confused tomorrow.

The GCK Convener further noted that nations and communities with severe economic crises usually bounced back to glory through the leaders’ drive and determination to turn things around, adding that it takes individuals with purpose and great ideas, to put them into action, and achieve positive results that alleviate the people’s sufferings.

He said leaders with the right knowledge but without courage would easily succumb to wrongdoings due to political pressure from those around him, but encouraged Nigerians not to lose hope in the present situation of things because greater possibilities lie ahead if only they can pray, plan, and pursue their endeavours in order to make a difference in the nation.

In urging Nigerian youths not to be intimidated by the current economic realities, the respected Clergy urged them to wake up and pursue their goals with determination and diligence while shunning all illegal activities that could easily ruin their bright future.

On the motivation to hold the global crusade in Ogbomoso, Pastor Kumuyi attributed it to his passion and determination to make a difference in the lives of the people, using Ogbomoso as a platform to reach out to the over 180 countries covered by GCK activities and programme.

Assuring that great possibilities await attendees at the Conference, the General Superintendent charged the Ogbomoso people, especially the youth populace to turn out en masse for the crusade that would feature the impact programme for the youth and the Minister’s conference.
