Nigerian Army Plans Reference Hospital In S-East

Nigerian Army is set to boost healthcare delivery in South-East geo-political by building a state-of-the-art Army Reference Hospital in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital city.

Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, 82 Division of the Nigerian Army, Colonel Aliyu Yusuf, said in a statement made available to newsmen in Enugu on Thursday that the hodpital project is part of the Nigerian Army’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to the people.

According to Col Yusuf; “This hospital project when completed will be a world class and state-of-the-art hospital that will meet the needs of Nigerian Army personnel and the civil populace in the South-East region of the country.

“It will indeed boost the morale of troops and their families as well as contribute to the development of host community, Abakaliki and Ebonyi State in general.”

The Army spokesperson further stated that the Ground Breaking Ceremony of the hospital project would be performed on Friday, August 7, 2020 at Nkwagu Cantonment, Abakaliki.

He also said dignitaries and invited guests are expected to observe all COVID-19 protocols at the venue with the event kicking-off at 10am prompt
