BY SEGUN ADEBAYO – Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar says Nigerians are ready to sack the All Progressives Congress (APC) from power and finally bury the party at the 2023 general elections.

According to the former Vice President of Nigeria, the next year polls presents the needed opportunity for the electorate, who are determined to punish the ruling party for its political transgression against the people and the country.

Reacting to the collapse of national electricity grid that has thrown a section of the country into blackout, Atiku said in a series of tweets on Monday that he is confident Nigerians will finally nail the ruling APC through the ballot and enthrone a viable pathway for the New Nigeria.

Describing the national grid collapse as a metaphor for the collapsing state of Nigeria, the Wazirin Adamawa pointed to insecurity, collapsing unity, and collapsing economy among others.

The PDP flag bearer tweeted thus; “The darkness that has enveloped the nation in the last couple of days with the collapse of the national grid is a metaphor for the collapsing state of our nation: collapsing unity, collapsing security, collapsing economy, collapsing education, collapsing well-being and collapsing value of human life and dignity.”

Atiku further tweeted; “My expectation is that Nigerians will collapse the ruling APC in kind via the ballot and enthrone a viable pathway for the New Nigeria of our dreams that will be united and stable, prosperous and awash with opportunities; secured and inclusive. As one, we can get it done.”

Atiku’s berating of the APC follows reports from Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) indicating the national electricity grid collapsed again on Sunday evening making it the fifth time that the country is being thrown into total blackout since the year began

Among the states affected by the power outage are Kaduna, Lagos, Abuja and the entire South-East zone comprising Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo States.
