No Escape As Court Orders CCT Chairman, Danladi Yakubu To Appear Before Senate Probe Panel

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, on Tuesday ordered the Chairman of the Code of Conduct Tribunal, Danladi Yakubu to appear before the Senate Committee investigating his case of disturbance of peace and beating up of a security personnel at the Banex Plaza, Wuse 2, Abuja.

The Court presided over by Justice Inyang Ekwo, dismissed the suit instituted by the CCT Chairman, Mr Danaldi Yakubu in his attempt to stop the Senate from investigating his alleged involvement in the beating of the security personnel at Banex Plaza, Abuja.

In his ruling, the trial judge, Justice Ekwo, ordered Danaladi Yakubu to appear before the Senate committee as directed by the Upper chamber of the National Assembly.

The Court further ruled that as a public officer administering law, Danladi Yakubu is answerable to the Senate on moral standards.

Accordingly, Justice Ekwo, ordered the CCT Chairman to present himself before the Senate to answer questions on a public petition brought against him by an aggrieved citizen.

The judge while dismissing Yakubu’s suit seeking to stop the probe by the Senate, declared that it lack merit and substance.
