No Vacancy: Tinubu Drops Danfulani As SMDF, PAGMI Secretary
BY EDMOND ODOK – President Bola Tinubu has rescinded his earlier appointment of Yazid Danfulani as the Executive Secretary of the Solid Minerals Development Fund/Presidential Artisanal Gold Mining Initiative.
The President’s decision was conveyed by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, in a statement titled; “President Tinubu announces key appointments into NUC, NERDC, NEPAD, renews the appointment of Fatima Shinkafi in SMDF.”
The statement , explained that Danfulani’s appointment was reversed as “there is no vacancy in the agency.”
Consequently, Fatima Shinkafi has been returned to the Agency as its Executive Secretary.
According to Onanuga’s statement, Shinkafi was first appointed by former President Muhammadu Buhari, adding that she has been described as “one of the driving forces behind the changes in the solid mineral sector.”
The statement further read; “The President also approved the renewal of the appointment of Fatima Umaru Shinkafi as the executive secretary of the Solid Minerals Development Fund/Presidential Artisanal Gold Mining Initiative (SMDF/PAGMI).
“She was first appointed to the job by President Buhari and is said to be one of the driving forces behind the changes in the solid mineral sector.
“The earlier announcement about the appointment of Yazid Shehu Umar Danfulani as the Executive Secretary of the SMDF/PAGMI has been cancelled as there is no vacancy in the agency,” the statement partly read.
Meanwhile, President Tinubu has also approved the appointments of Chief Executive Officers for some establishments in the country.
Professor Abdullahi Ribadu, a visiting professor at the National Universities Commission (NUC), has been appointed as the organisation’s Executive Secretary.
“Prof Ribadu is an expert in veterinary reproduction and has served as vice chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Yola, and the Sule Lamido University, Jigawa State.
“President Tinubu appointed Prof Salisu Shehu as Executive Secretary of the NERDC.
“Prof Shehu is a renowned academic in educational and human Psychology”, the Presidency said in its statement.
Similarly, President Tinubu has approved Jabiru Tsauri’s appointment as the National Coordinator of the New Partnership for Africa Development (NEPAD)
