The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has felicitated with the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mr. Mohammed Idris, on the occasion of his 60th birthday.
The Agency particularly applauded the remarkable leadership of Idris in communicating government policies, programmes and activities.
Director-General of the NOA, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, who conveyed heartfelt felicitations to the minister, specifically commended his steadfast leadership and dedication to advancing Nigeria’s national reorientation agenda in line with the country’s broader development goals.
Issa-Onilu described Idris as a focused and forward-looking leader whose dedication to public service has continued to strengthen the information and orientation sector, noting that his stewardship has provided the necessary direction for agencies under the ministry to engage citizens and promote national consciousness effectively.
The DG NOA observed that the Information Minister’s consistent emphasis on national values, civic responsibility, and patriotism has helped reposition public discourse, encouraging Nigerians to adopt a stronger sense of belonging and responsibility towards the country’s growth and stability.
Issa-Onilu also said that Idris leadership has brought renewed energy and purpose to the task of reconnecting citizens with the core ideals of unity, discipline, and collective responsibility, which remain essential for achieving sustainable national development.
The DG also said that the clarity, structure, and consistency introduced into government communication under Idris guidance have significantly improved public understanding of policies and programmes, thereby fostering a more informed and engaged citizenry.
Issa-Onilu particularly acknowledged Idris firm commitment to promoting truthful, timely, and responsible communication, stressing that such an approach has played a critical role in countering misinformation and strengthening public trust in government institutions.
He said the NOA has continued to draw strength from the minister’s leadership, which has enhanced its operational focus and enabled it to deepen its grassroots sensitisation efforts across diverse communities in the country.
A statement by Paul Odenyi, Deputy Director, Media and Communication with the NOA, stated that the DG therefore reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to supporting the minister’s vision by intensifying advocacy programmes aimed at promoting discipline, integrity, and active citizenship, while also encouraging Nigerians to take ownership of national development efforts.
While wishing the Minister more success in life, Issa- Onilu prayed the Almighty to grant him long life and greater fulfillment.
