Northern Govs, Leaders, Royal Fathers Meet In Kaduna

BY VICTOR BUORO – Security and development issues are top of the agenda as Chief of Staff to the President, Professor Ibrahim Gambari, Minister of Information and Culture Alhaji Lai Mohammed and Minister of FCT, Alhaji Mohammad Musa Bello arrived Kaduna to meet with Governors and traditional rulers in Nigeria’s northern region.

Others attending the meeting that will also deliberate on issues affecting the growth and peace in the region’s three geo-political zones are the Senate President Ahmad Lawal, the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Saad Abubakar, and the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu Abubakar.

The meeting held behind closed doors with the Governors of Gombe, Nasarawa, Jigawa, Sokoto, Kaduna, Zamfara, Niger and the Deputy governors of Katsina, and Kogi States among other deputies were also in attendance.

Chairman Council of Chiefs of each state of the Northern region are also at the meeting.

Some members of the Senate and House of representatives from the region are also present at the meeting considered as quite timely given recent developments in the polity

Inside sources hinted that IGP Adamu is expected to brief the meeting on efforts to contain the current security challenges and issues arising from the #endSARS protest in the north and the country in general.
