BY AHMED TUKUR, LAFIA – The Nasarawa State Command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) has paraded a 22 year old, Veronica Boniface for stabbing her husband to death.
Parading the suspect at the Command headquarters in Lafia, the State Commandant of NSCDC, Habu Fari said the woman was arrested in Obene area of Keana Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
Fari said the Command has concluded investigation into the matter and ready to arraign the suspect in court for murder of her husband.
The NSCDC boss said the Command has also conducted a medical examination on the suspect to examine her status and she is confirmed to be medically fine.
Fari further said; “The husband was rushed to the hospital after she stabbed him with a knife when they had a quarrel over a phone call she suspected was a lady that called him.”
“We found out that she has a two years, two months old baby and now in the hands of the relations of the husband, Late Mohammed.”
Speaking to journalists, Veronica said she regretted her action and pleaded for leniency, saying that she is also one month pregnant.
Veronica said her intention was to scare her late husband and collect the phone but mistakenly ended up killing him.
