Amidst rumours of secret personnel recruitment into its fold, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) said there is no such exercise on-going in the organization.
The Corps however said that depending on availability of funds, it will soon advertise existing vacancies before the end of 2017.
Commandant General of the Corps, Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu, who gave the clarification in Abuja, explained that some mischief makers have decided to misconstrue the current documentation and data capturing exercise as so-called recruitment into its fold.
According to Muhammadu, when the appropriate time comes; the Corps would, without any hesitation, advertise existing vacancies in major national newspapers, adding that as soon as fund was made available from the budget, the exercise would take place “before the end of the year,”.
The NSCDC boss, in a statement by the Corps spokesman, Emamnuel Okeh, said, “the documentation and data capturing exercise for personnel presently going on at the state commands nationwide is being misconstrued by criminally-minded individuals to mean recruitment or replacement exercise in order to drive home their aim of defrauding unsuspecting Nigerians.”
A report by Daily Trust quoted the Commandant General as urging “desperate job seekers and the general public” to take note of the information as not to be defrauded by criminal elements in the society.
