NUJ To Kano Information Commissioner, Dantiye – Bring To Bear Your Experience

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kano State Council, has tasked the new Commissioner for Information in the State, Hon. Baba Halilu Dantiye to deploy his professional wealth of experience in projecting the good image of the state as well as managing information on the policies and programmes of the Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf-led administration.

This is as the Council also pledged that members of the Union, as  his professional colleagues, are determined to give him all the necessary support, cooperation and understanding to succeed in the attainment of these noble objectives.

These were contained in a congratulatory letter to Hon. Dantiye by Comrades Abbas Ibrahim and Abba Murtala, Chairman and Secretary of the Kano Council, even as they also urged the new Information Commissioner to carry along all working Journalists in discharging the all-important tasks ahead in the State.

The Congratulatory letter read in part; “The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ),Kano State Council, wishes to congratulate you on your appointment and swearing in as Kano State Commissioner for Information by His Excellency, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.

“The appointment is well-deserved in view of your impressive pedigree, first as a former Editor with the Triumph Newspapers, a two-term President of the elite Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE), a former Director-General (Media), a retired Permanent Secretary, and above all, a member of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (mni).

We hope you will bring these unmatchable records to bear in projecting the good image of the state as well as managing information about the policies and programmes of the Abba Kabir Yusuf-led administration.

“We also hope that you will carry along all working Journalists in the state in the discharge of the all-important tasks ahead,” the NUJ stated.
