BY AMOS TAUNA, KADUNA – The Kaduna state Chairman of the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT), Comrade Ibrahim Sirajo, has appealed to authorities concerned to intensify efforts towards the release of students, staff and principal recently kidnapped in the state.
Six female students and two staff were kidnapped at Engravers College Kakau Dan I in Chikun Local Government Area as well as the principal of Government Technical School, Kajuru.
While on a visit to various families of the victims, Sirajo said called on the relevant security personnel and government officials to take necessary and needed actions to ensure the release of the abductees to enable them reunite with their families.
Sirajo visited Government Technical School, Kajuru and the distressed family of the kidnapped principal, Mr. Francis Maji in Mararaban Kajuru in Kajuru Local Govetnment Area of kaduna state.
The visit, according to him is to commiserate with the staff of the school and to identify with the victims’ families in this trying period.
The NUT Chairman said; “We come to sympathize with you people in this moment of sorrow. NUT is a family and our unity can only be guaranteed by identifying with each other at a time like this, at a time that our joy is forcefully taken away from us.”
Sirajo urged the staff of the school and the families of the abductees to put their trust in God saying that only God can turn things around in favour of his people, especially knowing that kidnapping is a new trend in the society.
