Ohinoyi Of Ebiraland, Dr. Ado Ibrahim Dies At 95
The Ohinoyi of Ebiraland also known as the Atta of Ebiraland, Dr AbdulRahman Ado Ibrahim, is dead.
The traditional ruler died at the age of 95 in the early hours of Sunday, October 29, 2023 in a hospital in Abuja, the nation’s capital where he had been receiving treatment for age-related ailment.
The death of the Dr. Ado Ibrahim brought to an end a luminous reign on the throne of his fore bearers.
The late Dr. AbdulRahman Ado Ibrahim ascended the throne as Ohinoyi of Ebiraland on June 2, 1997. Before ascending the throne, the late traditional ruler was a successful businessman and a billionaire who spent a great part of his life in Lagos.
The title Atta of Ebiraland ascribed to the Ohinoyi has historically antecedent that was being used before the 20th Century.
The position of the Ohinoyi which is usually elected by a group of elders rotates amongst the major clans of the Ebira people.
The remains of Dr. Ado Ibrahim, according to palace sources will be buried today at 2:00pm in Okene according to Islamic rites.
