With less than 24 hours to the inauguration of President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, some five persons believed to be agitators for Oodua Nation on Sunday morning stormed and took over a Federal Government owned Radio station, Amuludun 99.1 FM in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

The agitators that invaded the Amuludun 99.1 FM station brandishing different types of charms and other traditional materials, made a broadcast on the station being operated by the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN).

During the broadcast, the agitators stated that Oodua Nation has come to stay and that Yoruba will no more be part of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, adding that the United Nations will soon declare Oodua Nation among other things.

The live broadcast stated; “The United Nation will soon declare Oodua Nation”; “Oodua Nation has come to stay”; and “Yoruba no more under the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” among other things.

Commenting on the development while speaking with journalists, the General Manager of the station, Mr. Stephen Agbaje, said the group of agitators took the staff of the Radio station by surprise.

Agbaje said that the agitators invaded the station at night and forcefully took it over, adding however that the situation has been brought under control by security agencies who recovered the Federal Government property and later made some arrests.
