Pastor Commits Suicide Over Failed Love Relationship, Buried In Forest
An Anambra-based Pastor, Prosper Obun Igbokwe, who was allegedly jilted by his girlfriend and committed suicide thereafter, has been buried in the forest.
Forefront News gathered that the late Pastor Igbokwe was buried on Friday, August 25, 2023 in a forest in his community in accordance with the traditions of the people.
Late Pastor Igbokwe, who hailed from Leru community in Umunneochi Local Government Area of Abia State, reportedly bid farewell to life as well as ended his pastoral work here on earth by jumping from a two storey building headlong after his girlfriend, whom he laboured frantically and trained in the University later turned down his proposal for marital bliss.
Before his demise, the 30-year-old Igbokwe was pastoring at a Pentecostal church in Nnewi, Nnewi North Local Government Area of Anambra State
A close relations to the Late Pastor (name withheld) said the unfortunate incident took place in July 2023, saying that his girlfriend, whom he had intended to marry, disappointed him after seeing her through the university.
He said; “He jumped down from a two-storey building and died. I am surprised that a man of this age and a Pastor can do this.”
Until his death, the late Pastor Prosper Igboke was pastoring one of the popular Pentecostal churches in Nnewi, Anambra State.
Commenting on the development, the Police Public Relations Officer for Anambra Police Command, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, said the incident was not known to the police as it was reported to it.
