PDP Carpets Secondus As Appeal Court Okays National Confab
The Appeal Court has given the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) the go ahead to hold its National Convention slated for Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) tomorrow, October 30, 2021.
The nation’s main opposition party got the needed legal reprieve on Friday as its suspended national chairman, Prince Uche Secondus lost his bid to stop the planned national convention.
In dismissing an interlocutory suit by Secondus aimed at stopping the event, the three-man Appeal Court Panel sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, described the case before it as an after-thought and abuse of court process.
Reading the judgment, Justice Gabriel Kolawole said court blamed Secondus for not acting before now when his ward and local governments suspended him from the party.
The Court therefore urged the party to go on with the planned convention as scheduled.
