Chief Daniel Osi Orbih, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and known political ally of Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), is dead.
His death was contained in a statement issued on behalf of the Orbih family by Francis Udukhomoi Orbih, Esq. who announced that the politician died on Monday, August 31, 2026.
The family described the late chief Orbih as a beloved brother, husband, father and uncle, saying it received the loss with profound sadness and submission to the will of Almighty God.
The statement further stated; “With profound sadness and a heavy heart but in total submission to the will of the Almighty God, the family of Chief M.C.K. Orbih announce the passing of our beloved brother, husband, father and uncle, Chief Daniel Osi Orbih”.
The late chief Orbih is survived by his wife, Mrs. Florence Orbih; his children, Ms. Winifred Anwosiobor Orbih and Dr. Mildred Omonemi Orbih; his brothers and sisters, as well as other members of the extended family.
The statement appealed to relatives, friends and well-wishers to remember them in their prayers as they mourn the painful loss.
While praying for the peaceful repose of his soul, the family stated that more details about the funeral arrangements would be announced in due course.
Orbih was a prominent figure within the PDP and was widely associated with the political camp of Nyesom Wike, with whom he maintained a strong political relationship.
