PDP Has No Agreement With Wike, His Claims Mere Personal Plan – NWC Member
A member of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (, PDP), Mr Daniel Woyengikuro, has asserted that the Party was not involved in any agreement whatsoever with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Chief Nyesom Wike.
This was as he also dismissed Wike’s accusations against certain public office holders in the Party, and urged Nigerians particularly members of the Party to always seek official party positions from the appropriate authorities.
Woyengikuro, who is the National Financial Secretary of the Party, specifically said since the Party was not part of the agreements, it was therefore not bound by them, stressing that they were personal and do not in any way reflect the party’s official stance.
The National Officer who spoke against the backdrop of a deepening internal crisis that continues to threaten its unity and cohesion, pointedly said that Wike’s position cannot be imposed on the PDP.
In the words of Woyengikuro; “What agreements are we talking about? Wike had agreements with his friends, not with the party.
“The names he mentioned are not the party? The party was not involved in any of the agreements he claimed he made. We have no knowledge of such agreements,” he explained.
Woyengikuro therefore stressed the need for the holding of the National Executive Committee (NEC), of the PDP which is its highest decision-making organ outside the National convention in order to convene and address the growing disputes.
He further said; “The NEC will address any and all the issues. This isn’t a physical fight or a man-to-man confrontation. All this unnecessary drama is uncalled for”.
