Former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon Kola Ologbondiyan, has declared that the best option left for the members of the Party is to align with the broader coalition to achieve their 2027 political objectives.

This was as he said that if Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), can remain as a member of the PDP while openly collaborating with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), then, others members of the Party stand justified to form or join a coalition within the PDP.

In the words of Ologbondiyan; “There is nothing wrong with remaining in the PDP while aligning with a broader coalition to achieve the desired political objectives.

“If Wike can stay in PDP and work with the APC, we can also stay in the PDP and join the coalition,” he insisted.

Ologbondiyan, who was speaking on recent developments within the PDP, stressed that the rules of the PDP are meant for only certain individuals while others are treated as if they are above the Party and law.

The former Spokesperson of the PDP’s statement which is likely to stir further debate within opposition circles, noted that some of them warned ahead of time of the way the Party was treating some members with deodorant while teargassing others as if the PDP has two sets of rules.

His comments come amid growing calls for unity among opposition parties ahead of the 2027 general elections.
