PDP Screening Committee Disqualifies Two Presidential Aspirants
The Senator David Mark-led screening committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), on Friday announced the disqualification of two of the 17 presidential aspirants seeking its ticket to contest the 2023 election.
The Chairman of the Presidential Screening Committee and former President of the Senate, David Mark, who announced this at the end of its screening exercise, said that the disqualified aspirants would forfeit the N40 million they each paid for the Expression of Interest and nomination forms.
Asked to name the names of the two disqualified aspirants and the reasons adduced for their disqualification, Mark said that the identities of the two aspirants shall be kept closed for now until at the appropriate time.
When asked if the screening committee recommended the refund of their N80million used for the purchase of Expression of Interest and Nomination forms, the Chairman of the PDP presidential screening committee pointedly said that they would be no refund whatsoever.
He said; “Why should the party refund? It was money for the purchase of forms”.
