PDP Sets Up Ward Caretaker Committees In Edo State
The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Thursday, February 1, 2024, announced the setting up of Ward Caretaker Committees in Edo State to function for a period of 30 days effective today.
A statement by Hon. Debo Ologunagba, National Publicity Secretary of the Party, said that the approved composition of the Ward Caretaker Committees was pursuant to the provisions of the PDP Constitution as amended in 2017.
The also said that the decision of the NWC was predicated on the expiration of the tenure of the Edo State Ward Executive Committees on February 1, 2024.
The statement said that following the development, the NWC has approved the appointment of the out-going Edo State Ward Executive Committees to function as Ward Caretaker Committees for a period of 30 days so as to avoid any vacuum in the important organ of the Party in Edo State.
The NWC enjoined all Party leaders, critical stakeholders and members of the PDP in Edo State to be guided by this and continue to work together in the overall interest of the Party in the State.
