President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered the Nigerian Army and the Police to immediately stop the violence and ceaseless killings in Plateau State.
This is as the President expressed deep sadness and regret over news of recent killings of about 20 people in Plateau in what sources described as a reprisal attack by some herdsmen.
Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu said President Buhari believes that this madness has gone too far and has therefore instructed the military and the police to bring the violence to an instant end.
He said the President has also ordered security agencies to come up with robust plans to ensure there are no further attacks and reprisal attacks by one group against the other in the State and country in .
According to the Media aide, President Buhari is devoted to the sanctity of Nigeria’s unity, and encourages Nigerians of all groups to learn to live together in peace and harmony..
President Buhari therefore commiserates with the governor and people of Plateau State, and with those who lost their loved ones, friends and family: May God comfort them as only He can.
