PLHA Crisis: Lawmaker Berates Plateau SSG Over Impeachment Claims
BY CHAMBERLAIN ODEY, JOS – The lawmaker representing Jos North East in the Plateau State House of Assembly (PLHA), Hon Esther Simi Dusu, has berated the Secretary to the Government of the State, Professor Danladi Abok Atu, over claims that she actively participated in the current impeachment sage rocking the House.
Debunking allegations that she was one of the signatories of the ‘impeachment’ notice served on the House Speaker by seven members, Dusu, who is the only female member of the House, said regrets that a top official of the State government can make such ‘baseless’ claims without any shred of evidence.
The lawmaker, a member of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), described as ‘quite embarrassing’ Prof Atu’s claims, saying; “It is even more disappointing that a highly placed individual as Professor Atu will condescend so low and tell such a barefaced lie”.
Wondering why the SGS had to abandon the subject matter of the Afizere Youth Parliament (AYP) visit to him, Dosu denied being a party to any discussion on impeaching the Speaker, let alone being privy or signatory to any paper or document to impeach him.

She insisted that the Speaker, Abok Nuhu Ayuba, was never impeached given that the majority of members have confidence and belief in the House leadership under him, and therefore cannot allow a few persons to make rash decisions on behalf of the Assembly.
In a statement titled; “Distance me from mischief makers”, Hon Dusu said; “I strongly dissociate myself from a report from “representatives of Afizere Youth Parliament in which my name was mentioned”.
According to her, “The said report, claiming to be the outcome of a meeting the Afizere Youth Parliament and the Secretary to the Government of Plateau State, Professor Danladi Atu, was said to have discussed many issues, including the unlawful and undemocratic attempt to illegally remove the Rt. Hon Abok Ayuba as Speaker”.
“I would have dismissed the report with a wave of the hand, but I am constrained to correct the wrong impression and dispel tissues of lies about my person, as representative of the women, youth, and the good people of Jos North West State Constituency,” she said.
