The Police Command in Lagos State have charged a 27-year-old man, Moses Adeniyi, in Yaba with the theft of a phone while disguised as a beggar.

The prosecutor, Thomas Nurudeen, alleged before a magistrates’ court sitting in Yaba that the accused gained access into his former company and was about to exit the premises with a Samsung belonging to one Ifeanyi Okafor when he was arrested.

Nurudeen explained that the accused was a former worker at Panda Events Complex on Commercial Avenue, Sabo, but was sacked some time ago by the company’s management.

He further said that the accused, allegedly disguised as a beggar to gain access into the complex, sneaked into one of the offices from where he stole the Samsung phone.

With the accused pleading not guilty to the charge, the Magistrate, P.E. Nwaka, ordered his remand and adjourned the case to a date that would be announced soon.
