Police Arrest Officers Demanding Bribe To Investigate Missing Girl In Ogun
The Nigeria Police Force, Ogun State command, has arrested some of its officers alleged to have demanded bribe from a family of a missing girl before they would act on the case.
This was disclosed on Saturday, December 28, 2024, by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi in a post on X.com on Saturday.
ACP Adejobi said that the officers are presently being detained in a police facility and are to face disciplinary acrtion.
Adejobi said in the post: “Otta missing girl: The policemen who demanded money before they could attend to the case have been arrested and are now in detention for disciplinary action.
The spokesperson of the Nigeria Police assured of the Force commitment to locating the missing girl, saying that she would be found soon saying; “The Ogun State Police Command has been on the case”.
Adejobi further said; “The girl will be found as soon as possible. We also urge the family of the victim to cooperate with the police”.
