Police Arrest Paedophiles Defiling Anambra Kids
BY ONYEKACHUKWU IBEZIM – The Anambra State Command of the Nigeria Police has arrested two suspects allegedly involved in a case of defiling four minors in the State.
The victims are aged 11 months old; five (5) years old; seven (7) years old and 10 years old respectively.
This is as the Commissioner of Police in Anambra, Mr Echeng Echeng has urged parents and guardians to exercise utmost discretion in deciding whose care to entrust their children and wards..
The Police boss gave this charge on Monday following the arrest and interrogation of two suspects, one Peter Ezeala, a 61-year-old man from Mbano in Imo State and one Elochukwu Igwilo, a 27-year-old male from Ekwusigo Local Government Area, in Anambra State in connection with children’s defilement.
The ugly incident took place on March 5, 2022 in Umudim, Nnewi Local Government Area of Anambra State.
A statement by the Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Anamabra State Police Command, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu said; “Investigation reveals that the mother of the victims, a trader, always leave the children under the care of the suspects whenever she was away at work.
“Unfortunately, the suspects capitalized on this to take undue advantage of the children.”
The Command Spokesman further disclosed that the suspects have been remanded in a Correctional Services Centre
