Police Arrest Woman Caught In Video Maltreating An Orphan In Lagos
The Police command in Lagos State Police on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, arrested a 32-year-old woman identified as Funmi Faith for maltreating an orphan girl living with her.
Fumi Faith was captured in a video by a neighbour believed to have monitored her maltreatment of the little girl for quite a long time and who could no longer bear the ill treatment and torture meted out on the little orphan.
The man was heard in the video exchanging words with the woman who challenged the male neighbour to do his worse when he accosted her over the torture and maltreatment of the poor little orphan with bodily injuries sustained from merciless beating.
The little orphan was made to take her bath in the open with cold water in the early hours of the day.
                            
The Police Public Relations Officers for the Lagos State command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 that Funmi was arrested by the police operatives at Oke-odo Division on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 after the video recorded by a man who monitored the woman and reported her to the Lagos State Government went viral.
In the meantime, the little orphan was handed over to the Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development for proper care and shelter.
