Suspected serial killer, Sunday Shodipe

BY VICTOR BUORO, ABUJA – Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), Oyo State Police Command on Sunday confirmed that the notorious murder suspect, Sunday Shodipe, who escaped from lawful custody on August 11, 2020, has been re-arrested

According to the Police operatives, he was picked up on Sunday, August 23, 2020 at the Bodija area of Ibadan in the Oyo State Capital.

The erstwhile fugitive is a prime suspect in the multiple murder of innocent citizens at Akinyele Local Government Area, Moniya, Ibadan, Oyo State.

Reacting to the development, Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mohammad A Adamu, has lauded the Commissioner of Police, Oyo State Command, CP Joe Nwachukwu Enwonwu and his team for a job well done.

He equally expressed his sincere appreciation to the citizens for their support and understanding while the manhunt for the rearrested Shodipe lasted.

A statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Frank Mba, the IGP has also warned against any form of complacency on the part of the operatives of the Oyo State Police Command.

The statement further said the Police boss has stressed the need to have all hands on deck in bringing the case to a positive and successful closure.
