Police Rescue 4 kidnapped NYSC Members, Recover 2 Rifles
BY EDMOND ODOK, ABUJA – Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force on Wednesday rescued four National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Members who were kidnapped on March 9, 2020 along Funtua-Gusau Road.
The foursome were on their way to the NYSC Orientation Camp, Gusau in Zamfara State.
A statement Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Frank Mba, said the successful rescue operation came as a result of diligent and intense intelligence gathering and sustained coordinated operations.
He gave the rescued corps members’ names as: Oladehin Paul, Ojo Temitope, Ojewale Elizabeth and Adenigbuyan Adegboyega.
According to DCP Mba, they four NYSC members have since been handed over to the Zamfara State Director of the National Youth Service Corps.
The statement further indicated that one Mohammed Ardo, a co-traveller from Gusau, who was kidnapped along with the NYSC members, has also been rescued and successfully reunited with his family.
Mba said the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mohammed A. Adamu, is proud of the Commissioner of Police in charge of Katsina state Command, CP Sanusi Buba, his operatives as well as good citizens of the State for the success of the police operations.
“This is as IGP Adamu assured Nigerians of the resolve and unrelenting determination of the Force to rid the nation of all forms of crime and criminality”, the statement said
