BY SEGUN ADEBAYO, ABUJA – Political appointees of Governor Aminu Bello Masari of Katsina State on Saturday took time out to celebrate him on the occasion of his 71st birthday.

The quiet birthday bash which took place in Abuja away from the bustling and beehive of activities within the Katsina State Government House, showed the staff in joyous mood appreciation of the governor who they described as an enigma, a workaholic and a man with a captivating mien and candor.

They staff said that the surprised birthday party was organised for their accommodating and non-discriminating boss as a way of expressing their appreciation and unalloyed loyalty for all he has done and still doing for the people of Katsina State in particular and Nigeria at large over the years.

While cutting the beautifully designed birthday cake among his staff, Governor Masari expressed appreciation over the surprised party organised by his appointees in his honour.

In his words; “I must say that I am taken by surprise with this birthday party in my honour. However, I feel good being in your midst celebrating my birthday.

“I want to assure you that my doors will as always remain opened at any given time in our collective desire to meet the yearnings of those we are serving.

“I appeal to you all to feel free to discuss with me on any issue that will lead to the growth of Katsina State. That is my primary focus and our collective desires”.

Prominent among the political appointees is the Private Secretary to the governor, Felicia Agbaire, who has been with Governor Masari since his days at the National Assembly about 20 years ago.
