Portrayal Of Osinbajo As Religious Bigot, Wicked, Mischievous – Former DSS Boss

BY AMOS DUNIA, ABUJA – Ex-Director General of the State Security Service (SSS), Mr Afakriya A Gadzama has described attempts to smear Acting President Yemi Osibanjo with the inscription of tribal and religious sentiments as wicked and mischievous.

Gadzama in a statement made available to Forefront News in Abuja said anyone who knows the Acting President and going by his antecedents so far, knows that the smear campaign against is a deliberate act of mischief and sheer wickedness

He said he has to make the statement to express his and other concerned Nigerians rejection of the attempts by some people to portray Prof Osinbajo as a tribal and religious bigot, stressing that he was happy that President Muhammadu Buhari has distanced himself from the divisive game some people wanted to play.

The former SSS boss declared; “Definitely, the attempt to paint the Acting President sectional cannot hold water. The claim unfortunately is the stock in trade of the elite who relish in playing the ethnic card, a pastime.

“The allegation, in our view, is a ploy to create disaffection in parts of the country. All patriotic Nigerians should be wary of the activities of those behind the campaign. The machinations of some of the people behind the allegations are too well known to be accorded any credence.”

Gadzama, who is an Officer of the Federal Republic (OFR), said, “What is required of all Nigerians, regardless of where they come from and their religious persuasion, is to pray for the quick recovery of Mr. President and demonstration of unflinching support to the Acting President.”
